For the event we configured the churches newly installed sound system and lighting with our own equipment. The sound were four flown Martin Touring range speakers and a Mackie TT24 digital desk. The lighting consited of a generic rig of Par Cans, Profiles and Fresnels paired with LED Uplighters and Mac 250s. All the instruments were miced up including full drum kit, guitar, bass, keyboard, saxaphone, trumpets and trombones as well as 4 vocalists. We provided 2 fills of audio for where the main PA would not cover which were mixed to ensure equal and balanced sound coverage throughout the venue. The performers were also provided with monitor mixes. The sound was designed by Mike Taylor and Tom Cox for this event with Tom Cox operating the desk. The lighting added colour and atmosphere to event designed and operated by Paul Lovett. Paul made sure that the right balance between mood and musicians being able to read their music was kept throughout the Jazz Night! David Winwood wrote to us after the event commenting that "The lighting and sound were great and so much appreciated by the audience..... and the band! People have expressed admiration of the high standard of the production side of things as well as for the content of the show" and "many have been remarking on the high quality of the sound" adding "we are grateful for the technical side but also for the ease with which everyone worked together. " A short audio clip of the evening is below:
